The New York Yankees maintain their Box-Toppers points lead among American League teams, while the San Francisco Giants earned the most points of any team in the past week.
Dodgers lead overall
The Dodgers regain the lead they’ve held for much of the season, passing the Brewers, who led for just one week. Prior to that, the Dodgers led nine straight reports from May 14 to July 12 and held top spot in 13 of the previous 14 rankings. Los Angeles had also held the top spot among National League teams in all 14 reports from April 9 to July 12.
The Dodgers have 86.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up 4.7 in the past week, passing the Brewers with 84.6 points, gaining 3.0 in the past week. The Brewers fall to second place overall and among National League teams.
The Dodgers have baseball’s best winning percentage (.633) and are led by Shohei Ohtani with 13.7 Box-Toppers points (5.0 as a batter and 8.7 as a pitcher). He ranks sixth overall, first among NL batters and fourth among NL pitchers. Other key Dodgers players include pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto (10.4 points, 10th among NL pitchers) and Andy Pages (5.7 points, 13th among NL batters). Yankees lead AL teams
The Yankees lead AL teams for the 15th straight week with 77.6 Box-Toppers points (gaining 5.0 points in the past week), ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays (fifth overall, 73.1 points). The Yankees rise from fourth to third place overall.
New York has the second-best winning percentage among AL teams (.560), behind the Rays (.593), who lead the Yankees in the AL East by 3.5 games.
The Yankees are led by pitcher Cam Schlittler (15.7 points, third overall, second among AL pitchers). The Yankees’ top batter is Jazz Chisholm Jr. (5.5 points, seventh among AL batters). Twenty-five Yankees have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2026.
Hottest team: San Francisco Giants
The Giants have gained the most Box-Toppers points in the past week (6.7), rising from 27th to 26th place with 56.0 Box-Toppers points. The Giants won five of their seven games this week.
Biggest jump: Nationals, Twins, Astros
Three teams each rose three spots in Box-Toppers team rankings this week, tied for the biggest jump among all teams:
The Washington Nationals rose from 12th to ninth place with 67.7 points, gaining 5.5 in the past week.
The Minnesota Twins rose from 14th to 11th place with 65.7 points, gaining 4.5 points in the past week.
The Houston Astros rose from 21st to 18th place with 62.5 points, gaining 6.5 in the past week.
Biggest fall: Detroit Tigers
The Tigers fell three spots, most of any team, from 17th to 20th place with 61.5 points, gaining 2.0 in the past week. The Tigers won two of their six games this week.
Last place: Athletics
The Athletics rank 30th for the second week with 48.2 points, gaining 2.0 in the past week.
