The New York Yankees maintain the Box-Toppers points lead among American League teams, while the Boston Red Sox earned the most points since the last report July 2.

While Box-Toppers team rankings reports usually post on Fridays, the All-Star break has altered the routine. This report was held until after Sunday's games to encapsulate the complete first “half” of the season. There will be no report on Friday, July 17, given that only a single game is scheduled for Thursday, July 16. Regular Friday rankings reports will resume on July 24.

Dodgers lead

The Dodgers remain in first place overall with 77.5 Box-Toppers points, gaining 4.7 since the last report on July 2. They lead National League teams for the 14th straight report, ahead of the second-place Milwaukee Brewers (74.9 points, +7.0 since July 2).

The Dodgers have baseball’s best winning percentage (.629) and are led by Shohei Ohtani with 13.7 Box-Toppers points (5.0 as a batter and 8.7 as a pitcher). He ranks fifth overall, first among NL batters and third among NL pitchers. Other key Dodgers players include pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto (9.4 points, 10th among NL pitchers) and Andy Pages (5.7 points, ninth among NL batters). Twenty Dodgers have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2026.

Box-Toppers

Tracking who most helps their teams win the most games, based on box score stats. A method to measure & compare baseball's top players.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
