Braves pitcher Didier Fuentes is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Friday’s spring training games.
Other top players Friday include Tommy White of the Athletics and Alec Bohm of the Phillies.
Player of the Day: Didier Fuentes, Braves
Fuentes struck out five over three scoreless and hitless innings, allowing no walks, in the 7-6 win over the Yankees.
Fuentes, 20, maintains his rookie status for 2026. While he started four games for the Braves in 2025, he has yet to earn career Box-Toppers points.
AL Player of the Day: Tommy White, Athletics
White hit a grand slam, doubled and went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in seven runs, in the 13-4 win over the Brewers.
White, 23, has played two minor league seasons but has yet to make his Major League debut.
White edged out Daulton Varsho (Blue Jays) for AL Player of the Day honors on a tiebreaker, recording more at-bats (five vs. three) despite both finishing with a +7.0 Box-Toppers game score. Beyond beating Varsho on at-bats, White also topped another Player of the Game winner, White Sox pitcher Davis Martin (+7.0), because hitters hold the tiebreaker advantage over pitchers.
NL Batter of the Day: Alec Bohm, Phillies
Bohm hit two home runs and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 11-8 win over the Orioles.
Bohm earned 1.0 Box-Toppers point in 2025 after earning 6.4 in 2023 and 4.0 in 2024. His performance last season was hampered by a shoulder cyst that required drainage, however, his 2026 spring is off to a fast start with his second Player of the Game honor (previously Feb. 25). Bohm also earned Player of the Game honors twice in the 2025 spring training season.
AL Batter of the Day
There is no separate AL Batter of the Day for Friday because the overall AL Player of the Day is batter Tommy White.
Notable
In addition to Bohm, two other players won their second Player of the Game honor of the spring Friday:
White Sox pitcher Davis Martin (4IP H 0R 0BB 4K W in the 4-2 win over the Cubs) also did it March 7.
Marlins pitcher Chris Paddack (3IP H 0R 2BB 3K ND in the 1-0 win over the Mets) also did it March 1.
Friday’s games
In 17 spring training games between two Major League teams:
Nine games featured Player of the Game winners with previous career Box-Toppers points; six of those earned points in 2025 (see table).
Eight games featured Player of the Game winners with 0.0 career regular-season Box-Toppers points.
(Excludes World Baseball Classic games.)
Friday’s Scoring Summary
No official Box-Toppers points are awarded for preseason exhibition games. Had this been the regular season, points would have been awarded as follows:
Didier Fuentes, Braves: 2.0 points (Player of the Day)
Tommy White, Athletics: 1.7 points (AL Player of the Day)
Alec Bohm, Phillies: 1.5 points (NL Batter of the Day)
All other winners, listed in the chart: 1.0 point
