Pirates pitcher Bubba Chandler is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Thursday’s spring training games.
Other standout players Thursday include Guardians pitcher Slade Cecconi, Teoscar Hernández of the Dodgers, Royals pitcher Kris Bubic and Wyatt Langford of the Rangers.
Player of the Day: Bubba Chandler, Pirates
Chandler struck out eight over five innings, allowing one run, one hit and one walk, in the 5-2 win over the Braves. Chandler did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Pirates trailed when he exited.
Chandler earned 4.7 Box-Toppers points in his 2025 rookie season, 73rd among National League pitchers and seventh among NL rookie pitchers.
AL Player of the Day: Slade Cecconi, Guardians
Cecconi struck out six over four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 1-0 win over the Brewers.
Cecconi earned 6.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 56th among American League pitchers.
NL Batter of the Day: Teoscar Hernández, Dodgers
Hernández homered, doubled and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 9-5 win over the Reds.
He earned 2.7 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 77th among NL batters. This is his second Box-Toppers Player of the Game honor of the spring. He also did it Feb. 21.
AL Batter of the Day: Wyatt Langford, Rangers
Langford hit a three-run home run and went 2-for-3, scoring once and driving in three runs, in the 7-6 win over the Athletics.
He earned 2.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 38th among AL outfielders. This is his third Player of the Game and AL Batter of the Day honor of the spring; he also did it:
