Matt McLain of the Reds is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Monday’s spring training games.

Other standout winners include Red Sox pitcher Johan Oviedo, Wyatt Langford of the Rangers and Yordany De Los Santos of the Pirates.

Player of the Day: Matt McLain, Reds

McLain powered the Reds' 17-9 win over the Cubs, going 2-for-2 with two three-run homers and six RBIs. He finished 2025 with 2.5 Box-Toppers points (89th among National League batters).

AL Player of the Day: Johan Oviedo, Red Sox

Oviedo struck out four over three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 7-6 win over the Blue Jays.

Though Seth Martinez earned the official win in relief, Oviedo was the game's top performer. Returning from 2024 Tommy John surgery and a subsequent lat injury that limited him to nine appearances in 2025, Oviedo looks to build on the 2.0 points he earned last season with the Pirates.

AL Player of the Day: Johan Oviedo, Red Sox.

AL Batter of the Day: Wyatt Langford, Rangers

Langford homered and went 1-for-2, scoring once and driving in two runs, in the 3-1 win over the Guardians.

Langford earned 2.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 91st among American League batters.

AL Batter of the Day: Wyatt Langford, Rangers.

NL Batter of the Day

There is no separate NL Batter of the Day for Monday, as the overall Player of the Day is NL batter Matt McLain.

Yordany De Los Santos becomes the second player this spring to earn Player of the Game honors twice.

Notable

Yordany De Los Santos becomes the second player this spring to earn Player of the Game honors twice (joining the Yankees’ Paul Goldschmidt). The Pirates prospect, who has yet to make his MLB debut, went 1-for-1 with a home run and 2 RBIs in a 4-1 win over the Rays.

De Los Santos was also Player of the Game on Feb. 24 in the 16-7 win over the Red Sox. Goldschmidt earned Player of the Game honors Feb. 24 and Feb. 26.
