Jeimer Candelario of the Angels is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Tuesday’s spring training games while Nick Castellanos of the Padres earns National League Player of the Day.
Player of the Day: Jeimer Candelario, Angels
Candelario homered, doubled and went 2-for-2, scoring twice and driving in two runs, in the 7-6 win over the Mariners.
Candelario earned no Box-Toppers points in 2025. Injuries, including a lumbar spine strain limited him to just 22 games in 2025 with the Reds. He played in 105 games for the Reds in 2024, earning 1.5 Box-Toppers points.
NL Player of the Day: Nick Castellanos, Padres
Castellanos homered, doubled and went 2-for-3, scoring once and driving in two runs, in the 4-3 win over the White Sox.
Castellanos earned 2.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025 with the Phillies. The Padres acquired Castellanos after he was released by the Phillies. His release followed a tumultuous relationship with the team, including a controversial incident where he confronted manager Rob Thomson after being benched.
Castellanos has only 3.5 total Box-Toppers points over the previous two seasons, but earned 11.5 points in 2021 with the Reds, to lead NL batters.

Report: #Phillies Johan Rojas, 25, faces an 80-game suspension after a positive test for performance-enhancing drugs. Rojas earned 0.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025 with #Phillies, playing in 71 games. He has 3.0 career B-T points, all earned with PHI in 2023.
