Player of the Day: Tatsuya Imai, Astros

Imai struck out four over three scoreless and hitless innings, allowing no walks, in the 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Imai, 27, has pitched nine seasons for the Saitama Seibu Lions in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball and is a three-time All-Star in that league, including 2024 and 2025. In 2025, he struck out 178 over 163 2/3 innings and went 10-5 with a 1.92 earned run average. He has yet to make his regular-season Major League debut and so has 0.0 career Box-Toppers points.

NL Player of the Day: Spencer Strider, Braves.

NL Player of the Day: Spencer Strider, Braves

Strider struck out five over four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 5-3 win over the Rays.

Strider was Box-Toppers Player of the Year in 2023, earning 21.1 Box-Toppers points, most of all players, but suffered a UCL tear in April 2024, which required surgery that kept him out for the rest of that season.

Strider returned in 2025, earning 5.0 Box-Toppers points, 64th among National League pitchers, while also dealing with a right hamstring strain that placed him on the injured list shortly after his season debut. He had 4.45 earned run average in 23 starts in 2025, compared to his 3.86 earned run average in 32 starts in his Box-Toppers-leading 2023 season.

AL Batter of the Day: Max P. Muncy, Athletics.

AL Batter of the Day: Max P. Muncy, Athletics

Muncy homered, doubled and went 3-for-3, scoring four times and driving in two runs, in the 13-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Muncy, 23, played in 63 games in 2025, but has yet to earn his first career regular-season Player of the Game honor, as opposed to the other third baseman Max S. Muncy with the Dodgers, who has earned 39.2 career Box-Toppers points with the Dodgers from 2018 to 2025.

NL Batter of the Day: GJ Hill, Rockies.

NL Batter of the Day: GJ Hill, Rockies

Hill hit a three-run home run and went 1-for-1, scoring once and driving in three runs, in the 11-7 win over the Mariners.

Hill has played five minor league seasons, reaching AA in 2025, but has yet to make his regular-season Major League debut and so has 0.0 career Box-Toppers points.

Jo Adell, Angels, has the most 2025 Box-Toppers points among Wednesday’s Player of the Game winners.

Notable: Jo Adell, Angels

Adell has the most 2025 Box-Toppers points among Wednesday’s Player of the Game winners.

Adell (HR 2-3 2R 2BI in the 8-4 win over the White Sox) earned 7.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 16th among American League batters.

Also notable: Matt McLain, Reds

McLain became the first player to earn Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors for a third time this spring training season.

  • March 5 in the 14-13 win over the Dodgers (HR 3-3 3R 2BI).

  • March 2 in the 17-9 win over the Cubs (2HR 2-2 3R 6BI), also winning overall Player of the Day honors.
