Angels pitcher Ryan Johnson is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Saturday’s spring training games.

Johnson struck out four over four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks, in the 3-0 win over the Athletics.

Though he appeared in 14 games in 2025, Johnson has yet to earn regular-season Player of the Game honors and maintains rookie status for 2026.

NL Player of the Day: Carson Whisenhunt, Giants

Whisenhunt struck out five over three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks, in the 7-5 win over the Rangers. He received a no-decision as Texas briefly took the lead after his exit.

Like Johnson, Whisenhunt retains his 2026 rookie status after five appearances in 2025, earning no Player of the Game honors.

McCarthy hit a sacrifice fly and went 1-for-1, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 6-4 win over the Dodgers.
