Player of the Day: Jacob Misiorowski, Brewers

Misiorowski struck out 15 in a complete-game, one-hit shutout, walking none and facing the minimum 27 batters, in the 6-0 win over the Phillies.

Misiorowski allowed one baserunner, Kyle Schwarber, who singled in the fourth inning but was retired when Bryce Harper grounded into a double play. Misiorowski threw just 95 pitches.

Misiorowski earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 13.0 for the season, maintaining second-place overall and among National League pitchers, behind Cristopher Sánchez of the Phillies (13.7 points).

Misiorowski recorded a +23.0 Box-Toppers game score, the highest since May 4, 2018, when Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole recorded a +23.0 game score in the 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks (CG H 0R BB 16K W).

The last time a player had a higher game score was Oct. 3, 2015, when Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer recorded a +26.0 game score in the 2-0 win over the Mets (CG 0H 0R 0BB 17K W).

Since the start of 2022, only three other players have achieved Box-Toppers game scores of +20.0 or better:

Misiorowski’s +23.0 is the highest Box-Toppers game score recorded by a Player of the Game winner in 2026, beating +19.0 by Angels pitcher Reid Detmers on May 24 (8IP H R 0BB 14K ND in the 2-1 win over the Rangers).

Bichette earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points as NL Batter of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, 11th among NL batters.

AL Batter of the Day: Yordan Alvarez, Astros

Alvarez hit two first-inning home runs, including a grand slam, in the 10-8 win over the Royals. Alvarez went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in six runs.

Alvarez earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points as AL Batter of the Day, giving him 3.5 for the season, 15th among AL batters.

Notable: Sonny Gray, Red Sox

Gray now has 130.3 career Box-Toppers points, 41st-most among all players since tracking began in 1995, after earning Player of the Game honors Friday.

Gray (6IP 5H R 0BB 7K W in the 10-1 win over the Rangers) trails 40th-ranked player, Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler (132.1) on the “all-time” career points list.

Gray ranks eighth among active, signed players in career points, fifth among active AL pitchers.

His 6.0 points in 2026 is 25th among all players, 11th among AL pitchers.
