Also Friday, four other players rise into Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list, all earning Player of the Game honors: Angels pitcher Reid Detmers (third place), Marcell Ozuna of the Braves (sixth), Athletics pitcher Paul Blackburn (eighth) and Cardinals closing pitcher Ryan Helsley (ninth).

Player of the Day

Peralta struck out 11 over six innings, allowing one run, five hits and no walks, in the 11-1 win over the Orioles.

Peralta earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, rising to first place in season player rankings, passing previous leader, Orioles pitcher Corbin Burnes (3.7 points), who falls to second place.

This is Peralta’s third Box-Toppers Player of the Game honor of the season. He did it previously March 29 and April 5, earning 1.0 Box-Toppers point each time.

American League Player of the Day is Angels pitcher Reid Detmers.

Angels pitcher Reid Detmers struck out seven over 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks, in the 7-0 win over the Red Sox.

Detmers earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 3.7 for the season, rising to third place in season player rankings, second among AL pitchers, behind Corbin Burnes of the Orioles (3.7 points). (Burnes ranks ahead of Detmers because he has more 2023 Box-Toppers points—11.7 vs. 6.7).

National League Batter of the Day is Marcell Ozuna of the Braves.

Marcell Ozuna of the Braves homered and went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 8-1 win over the Marlins.

Ozuna earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, rising to sixth in player rankings and first among NL batters, ahead of previous leader Seiya Suzuki of the Cubs (2.5 points), who falls to second place.

American League Player of the Day is Adolis Garcia of the Rangers.
