Dodgers lead Box-Toppers team rankings for 4th week; Yankees continue AL team lead

The Los Angeles Dodgers hold the top spot in Box-Toppers team rankings for the fourth consecutive week, while the New York Yankees continue to lead the American League.

Team rankings

Here are Box-Toppers 2026 team rankings through games of Thursday, April. 30. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team have accumulated this season. The column BTP/wk shows the number of points teams have accumulated in the past week. The column Wk ago shows the team's rank as of April 23.

Dodgers lead

Los Angeles maintains its hold on first place with 27.0 Box-Toppers points, adding 3.0 this week.

While the Dodgers maintain the points lead, several teams are jockeying for the best record in baseball. A look at the winning percentage leaders through April 30:

  • Atlanta Braves (.688): Ranked third in Box-Toppers points (24.2); picked up 4.0 points this past week.

  • Los Angeles Dodgers (.645): Ranked first in Box-Toppers points (27.0).

  • New York Yankees (.645): Ranked second in Box-Toppers points (25.2).

  • Cincinnati Reds (.645): Ranked fifth in Box-Toppers points (23.2).

Pitcher Tyler Glasnow leads the Dodgers (5.7 points, fifth overall and first among NL pitchers). Dodgers’ top batter is Max Muncy (3.7 points, third among NL batters). Ten different Dodgers players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2026.

Yankees lead AL teams

The New York Yankees lead AL teams for the second week with 25.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up 4.7 in the past week. The Yankees lead AL teams ahead of the second-ranked Cleveland Guardians, who rank seventh overall with 20.4 points, gaining 3.0 in the past week.

The Yankees have the best winning percentage among AL teams (.645) and are led by pitcher Max Fried (7.0 points, first overall). Yankees’ top batter is Amed Rosario (1.5 points, 27th among AL batters). Thirteen different Yankees players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2026.

Hottest team, biggest rise: Mariners

The Seattle Mariners are the week’s biggest movers, vaulting 10 spots from 19th to ninth after a 5.5-point gain with 19.0 Box-Toppers points.

They rank third among AL teams. The Mariners won five of their six games this week.

Biggest fall: Angels

The Los Angeles Angels plummeted 14 spots from 14th to 26th place. They gained no points in the past week, giving them 15.5 points in 2026. They lost all six of their games this week.

Last place: Mets

The New York Mets remain in 30th and last place for the second week with 11.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 2.0 in the past week.

Tracking who most helps their teams win the most games, based on box score stats. A method to measure & compare baseball's top players.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
