About Box-Toppers’ team abbreviations
Yankees pitcher Max Fried is the new overall No. 1 in Box-Toppers rankings.
He takes the top spot this week alongside two new league-leading batters: Jeremiah Jackson (Orioles) in the American League and Sal Stewart (Reds) in the National League.
Meanwhile, Tyler Glasnow of the Dodgers leads NL pitchers for the second week.
Fried leads
Max Fried rises from second place last week, passing Angels pitcher José Soriano to lead player rankings. Though they both have 7.0 Box-Toppers points on the season, Fried wins the tiebreaker based on higher 2025 point totals—14.4 vs. 12.7. Fried also ranks ahead of Soriano among AL pitchers.
American League batters
Jeremiah Jackson rises from fifth place last week to pass Riley Greene of the Tigers with 4.2 Box-Toppers points. Greene falls to second place with 3.5 points.
Jackson ranks 12th overall.
National League batters
Sal Stewart rises from sixth place last week to first with 4.0 points, passing last week’s leader Max Muncy of the Dodgers, who falls to third place with 3.7 points. Stewart leads over second-place NL batter, Alec Burleson of the Cardinals. Though Stewart and Burleson both have 4.0 points, Stewart ranks ahead on a tiebreaker with more 2025 points—2.5 vs. 1.0.
Stewart ranks 17th overall.
National League pitchers
Tyler Glasnow leads for the second week with 5.7 Box-Toppers points, picking up no points in the past week. He ranks ahead of second-place NL pitcher, Randy Vásquez of the Padres (5.4 points).
Glasnow falls from third to fifth place overall.

Closing the Gap: Batters Gain Ground
Batters won nearly half of Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors this week, increasing their share of Box-Toppers points won this season to nearly 40%.
In the 91 games played this week, batters won Player of the Game honors in 45 games, while pitchers won in 46.
Batters have now won 39.8% of Box-Toppers points awarded this season, ahead of their record-low 37.2% share they posted in 2024.
Pitchers have dominated in winning Player of the Game in recent seasons. While batters have struggled to reach parity with pitchers in recent seasons, it wasn’t always this way: From 1995 to 2009, batters generally won half or more of all Box-Toppers points each season. But their share of points dropped precipitously after 2009.
