The Tampa Bay Rays maintain their lead in Box-Toppers team rankings for the 11th straight week.

Here are Box-Toppers 2023 team rankings through games of Thursday, June 15. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team accumulated this season. The column BTP/wk shows have many points teams accumulated from June 9 to June 15 . The column Wk ago shows the team's rank on June 8.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks maintain their lead among National League teams and the Atlanta Braves are the week’s hottest team.

Rays lead American League teams

Rays players have accumulated 61.5 Box-Toppers points this season, picking up 5.2 points in the past week. They lead over the second-place Texas Rangers (54.6) by 6.9 points and over the NL-leading Diamondbacks (50.2) by 11.3 points.

The Rays have baseball’s best winning percentage (0.694) and are led by pitcher Shane McClanahan (8.7 Box-Toppers points, fifth among all players and fourth among AL pitchers). Rays’ top batter is Isaac Paredes (6.2 points, third among AL batters). There are 20 different Rays players who have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2023.

Diamondbacks lead National League teams

The Diamondbacks lead NL teams for the second week with 50.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up 4.7 points in the past week and maintaining their fourth-place overall ranking.

The Diamondbacks have the second-best winning percentage among NL teams (0.594), behind the Atlanta Braves (0.623), who are sixth overall in team rankings with 49.2 Box-Toppers points.

The Diamondbacks are led by pitcher Zac Gallen (8.7 points), fourth overall and first among NL pitchers. Top batter is Evan Longoria (2.7 points), 24th among NL batters. There are 22 different Diamondbacks players who have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2023.

Hottest team: Braves

The Atlanta Braves are the week’s hottest team, picking up 7.0 Box-Toppers points in the past week, most of any team, rising from ninth to sixth place overall with 49.2 points.

Biggest jump: Cubs

The Chicago Cubs make the biggest jump in Box-Toppers team rankings, rising five spots from 27th to 22nd with 36.9 Box-Toppers points, picking up 6.5 in the past week.

Biggest decline: Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers had the biggest decline among all teams in the past week, falling four spots from 12th to 16th place with 39.6 points, picking up no points in the past week.

Last place: Royals

The Kansas City Royals fall from 29th to 30th and last place in Box-Toppers team rankings with 19.0 points, picking up no points in the past week. The Oakland Athletics had ranked last for eight previous weeks, but rise to 29th this week with 21.5 points, picking up 5.0 points in the past week.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
