Here are the top 10 in Box-Toppers season player rankings for 2021. Players are ranked by Box-Toppers points (BTP) earned this season through Thursday, May 13.

Meanwhile, Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers rises to lead National League pitchers. Plus, both league batting leaders maintain their leads—J.D. Martinez of the Red Sox leads American League batters and Trevor Story of the Rockies leads NL batters.

Cole has 9.0 Box-Toppers points in 2021, passing Glasnow (7.0), who led all players from April 12 until May 12, when he was passed by Cole. Cole also assumes the lead among AL pitchers ahead of Glasnow.

National League pitchers—Clayton Kershaw rises to lead with 6.4 Box-Toppers points, third place overall. He passes last week’s leader, Yu Darvish of the Padres, who falls to fifth place this week with 5.7 points. Kershaw leads second-place NL pitcher Brandon Woodruff of the Brewers (6.4). Though Kershaw and Woodruff both have 6.4 Box-Toppers points this season, Kershaw ranks ahead because he had more 2020 points—7.7 vs. 7.0.

American League batters—J.D. Martinez of the Red Sox leads for the fifth straight week with 6.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up no points in the past week. He falls from third place overall last week to fifth this week. He ranks ahead of second-place AL batter Jose Abreu of the White Sox (4.0 points).

National League batters—Trevor Story of the Rockies leads for the second straight week with 3.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up no points in the past week. Story ranks ahead of second-place NL batter Nick Castellanos of the Reds (3.0 points). Story is 40th among all players in Box-Toppers season player rankings.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
