The Los Angeles Dodgers maintain their lead in Box-Toppers weekly team rankings for the fourth week.

Here are Box-Toppers 2020 season team rankings, through the games of Thursday, Sept. 10. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team accumulated this season. The column BTP/wk shows have many points teams accumulated from Sept 4 to Sept. 10. The column Wk ago shows the team's rank as of Sept. 3.

Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox maintain their lead among American League teams and the San Diego Padres are the week’s hottest team.

Dodgers players have accumulated 39.8 Box-Toppers points through the games of Sept. 10, picking up 3.5 points in the past week. They also have baseball’s best winning percentage (.711).

The Dodgers lead the second-place team, the San Diego Padres with 38.5 Box-Toppers points. The Padres were the week’s hottest team, picking up 7.0 points in the past week, most of any team. However, despite the gain in points, the Padres maintain their second-place rank among all teams.

The Dodgers are led by pitcher Clayton Kershaw with 6.7 Box-Toppers points, who ranks eighth among all players and fourth among NL pitchers. Mookie Betts leads Dodgers batters with 2.5 Box-Toppers points, 15th among NL batters. Twenty different Dodgers players have earned Box-Toppers points so far this season.

The White Sox lead AL teams for the second straight week with 34.7 Box-Toppers points, picking up 4.7 points in the past week, maintaining their rank of fourth place among all teams. The White Sox have the third-best winning percentage among AL teams (.628), trailing the Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays. The Athletics rank sixth in Box-Toppers team rankings, while the Rays rank 10th.

The White Sox are led by pitcher Lucas Giolito with 7.0 Box-Toppers points, sixth among all players and third among AL pitchers. Top batter is Eloy Jimenez with 4.5 Box-Toppers points, third among AL batters. Sixteen different White Sox players have earned Box-Toppers points so far this season.

The St. Louis Cardinals and the Los Angeles Angels both rise four spots in Box-Toppers team rankings, most of any team. The Cardinals rise from 20th to 16th with 23.6 Box-Toppers points, picking up 5.7 points in the past week. The Angels rise from 22nd to 18th with 22.9 points, picking up 5.5 in the past week.

The Arizona Diamondbacks fall the furthest among all teams, dropping six spots from 23rd to 29th place with 16.5 Box-Toppers points, picking up 1.0 point in the past week.

The Pittsburgh Pirates maintain 30th and last place in Box-Toppers team rankings for the fourth week with 14.0 Box-Toppers points, earning 3.0 points in the past week.

About Box-Toppers—Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
