Indians pitcher Shane Bieber maintains his lead in Box-Toppers weekly season player rankings report for the fourth week.

Meanwhile, Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish rises to lead National League pitchers, Adam Duvall of the Braves rises to lead NL batters and Kyle Tucker of the Astros maintains his lead among American League batters.

Here are the top 10 in Box-Toppers season player rankings for 2020. Players are ranked by Box-Toppers points (BTP) earned this season through Thursday, Sept. 10.

Bieber has 9.7 Box-Toppers points through the games of Sept. 10, gaining 1.0 Box-Toppers point in the past week. He also leads AL pitchers, ahead of Lance Lynn of the Rangers (7.4 points). 

Darvish rises to lead NL pitchers with 8.7 Box-Toppers points, ahead of second-place Jacob deGrom of the Mets (7.7). Darvish passes last week’s NL pitching leader Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers, who falls to fourth place with 6.7 points. Darvish ranks second among all players.

Adam Duvall of the Braves rises to lead NL batters with 4.0 Box-Toppers points, passing Jason Heyward of the Cubs (3.7 points), who falls to second place. Duvall ranks 29th among all players.

Kyle Tucker of the Astros maintains the lead among AL batters for the second week with 5.0 Box-Toppers points, earning no points in the past week, ahead of second-place Mike Trout of the Angels (4.5 points). Tucker ranks 15th among all players.

So far this season, 414 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 97 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points. There are 71 players who have made their Box-Toppers debut so far this season—15 in the past week—the first time in their career they earned Player of the Game honors. There have been 648 games completed in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season in which 900 are scheduled, meaning 72.0 percent of scheduled games have been played.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
