Both American League Division Series begin Tuesday.
The Houston Astros face the Seattle Mariners in one best-of-five game series and the New York Yankees face the Cleveland Guardians in the other. The top two AL seeds, the Astros (first) and the Yankees (second) received byes from the first round of playoffs and face the winners of the best-of-three Wild Card series played over the weekend.

Verlander took the lead with 26.0 Box-Toppers points after earning 2.0 points as Player of the Day Tuesday, passing Angels pitcher Shohei Ohtani (24.7).

The Los Angeles Dodgers finish the 2022 season leading Box-Toppers team rankings, but the gap between them and the second-place Houston Astros has narrowed.
The Dodgers lead for the ninth straight week, but their cushion over the second-place team, which once was as much as 8.9 Box-Toppers points, has narrowed in the final standings to just 1.7 points.
