Also Saturday, two pitchers rise in the Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list after earning Player of the Game honors: Cristopher Sánchez of the Phillies climbs to third place and Braxton Ashcraft of the Pirates moves to fifth place.
Other Player of the Game winners Saturday include Braves pitcher Martín Pérez, Hunter Goodman of the Rockies and Kevin McGonigle of the Tigers.
Player of the Day: Drew Rasmussen, Rays
Rasmussen struck out 10 over six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk, in the 1-0 win over the White Sox.
Rasmussen earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 11.0 for the season, 16th among all players and eighth among American League pitchers.
Rasmussen becomes the 21st player this season to reach 10 Box-Toppers points. It is his second season with 10 or more points. Previously, he did it in 2022 with the Rays, when his 11.1 points were 20th among AL pitchers. In 2025, he had 9.7 points with the Rays, 25th among AL pitchers.
NL Player of the Day: Martín Pérez, Braves
Pérez struck out six over seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks, in the 8-3 win over the Nationals. He carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up his only hit, a two-out single to Brady House.
Pérez earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as National League Player of the Day, giving him 5.7 for the season, 31st among NL pitchers.
NL Batter of the Day: Hunter Goodman, Rockies
Goodman hit two home runs, including a three-run homer, in the 12-6 win over the Royals. Goodman went 4-for-5, scoring twice and driving in five runs.
AL Batter of the Day: Kevin McGonigle, Tigers
McGonigle homered and went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in two runs, in the 8-6 win over the Athletics.
Rankings: Cristopher Sánchez, Phillies
Sánchez rises from fourth to third place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Saturday (6IP 2H 0R 5BB 11K W in the 5-0 win over the Orioles).
Sánchez earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 15.7 for the season. He trails Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski (17.7 points) and Blue Jays pitcher Dylan Cease (17.4 points). He ranks second among NL pitchers behind Misiorowski.
Sánchez recorded a +10.0 Box-Toppers game score Saturday, same as Pérez, who beat him for NL Player of the Day honors on a tiebreaker with more innings pitched—seven vs. six.

Ashcraft climbs from seventh to fifth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Saturday (5IP 2H R BB 5K W in the 4-1 win over the Reds).
Ashcraft earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 14.4 for the season. He ranks third among NL pitchers, behind Jacob Misiorowski of the Brewers (17.7 points) and Cristopher Sánchez of the Phillies (15.7 points).
