⬛ Guardians’ Cantillo records Friday’s best game score among non-Player of the Game winners
Notable: Luis Castillo, Mariners
Castillo now has 101.4 career Box-Toppers points—90th-most among all players since player tracking began in 1995—after earning Player of the Game honors Friday.
Castillo (6IP 4H R BB 4K W in the 3-1 win over the Guardians), with his 1.0 point Friday, passes six players on the “all-time” career points list—Paul Konerko (100.7), Matt Cain (100.7), Matt Holliday (100.8), Jason Schmidt (101.2), Mark Teixeira (101.3) and Tim Wakefield (101.4). (Though they both have the same career point total, Castillo ranks ahead of Wakefield by earning points more recently. Wakefield would have an estimated 110 career points if his entire career from 1992 were tracked. The other five players debuted in 1995 or later, so Box-Toppers tracked their entire careers.)
Castillo now trails 89th-ranked player Ken Griffey Jr. (102.2). (Griffey would have an estimated 140 career points if his entire career from 1989 were tracked.)
Castillo ranks 15th among active, signed players in career points. He ranks ninth among active AL pitchers in career points.
He now has 3.7 points in 2026, 43rd among AL pitchers
