Also Sunday, Brayan Rocchio of the Guardians rises to first place among American League batters in 2026 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors.

Other Player of the Game winners Sunday include Marlins pitcher Eury Pérez, Kazuma Okamoto of the Blue Jays and Michael Harris II of the Braves.

Weathers struck out eight over 7 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing five hits and one walk, in the 7-0 win over the Royals.

Weathers earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 59th in season player rankings, 23rd among American League pitchers.

Pérez struck out seven over six innings, allowing one run (none earned), three hits and one walk, in the 7-3 win over the Brewers.

Kazuma Okamoto of the Blue Jays is Sunday’s AL Batter of the Day.

Okamoto homered, doubled and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 10-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

This was Okamoto’s Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. Okamoto made his Major League debut March 27 and was playing in his 20th career game. Okamoto, 29, played 11 seasons in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) league. He was a six-time NPB All-Star and led the Central League in home runs three times.
