Phillies lead
Phillies players have accumulated 124.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025, picking up 4.5 in the past week. They lead all teams ahead of the second-place Rangers (120.9). They lead National League teams for the fourth week, ahead of the second-place Milwaukee Brewers (113.3 points, picking up 5.0 points in the past week).
The Phillies have baseball’s second-best winning percentage (.595), behind the Brewers (.614). The Brewers are fifth overall in Box-Toppers team rankings.
The Phillies are led by pitcher Zack Wheeler (20.1 Box-Toppers points, second overall and first among NL pitchers). Wheeler, however, is out for the season with venous thoracic outlet syndrome and is set to undergo thoracic outlet decompression surgery, with recovery time expected to be six to eight months. Phillies’ top batter is Kyle Schwarber (12.0 Box-Toppers points, first among NL batters). Twenty-six different Phillies players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2025.
Rangers lead AL teams
Rangers have accumulated 120.9 Box-Toppers points this season, picking up 2.0 in the past week. They lead AL teams over the second-place New York Yankees (116.9 points, picking up 6.7 in the past week).
The Rangers have the eighth-best winning percentage among AL teams (.516) and are in third place in the AL West, five games behind both the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners. They are also four games behind the three AL Wild Card contenders. The Toronto Blue Jays have the best winning percentage among AL teams (.582) and are 11th in Box-Toppers team rankings with 104.2 points.
The Rangers are led by pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (14.4 Box-Toppers points, 11th overall and fourth among AL pitchers). However, Eovaldi was ruled out for the season Aug. 26 with a rotator cuff strain. Rangers’ top batter is Josh Jung (4.5 Box-Toppers points, 41st among AL batters). Thirty-one different Rangers players have earned Player of the Game honors so far this season.
The Rangers’ Box-Toppers standing was boosted last week by acquiring two players with a combined 8.4 Box-Toppers points this season: pitcher Cal Quantrill (who earned 6.7 points in 2025 with the Marlins) and first baseman Donovan Solano (who earned 1.7 points in 2025 with the Mariners). Neither has yet played for the Rangers this season.
Hottest team: Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians are this week’s hottest team, picking up 7.7 Box-Toppers points in the past week, rising from 18th to 17th place overall with 87.8 points.
Also notable
The Athletics had the biggest jump among all teams, rising three spots from 26th to 23rd with 73.4 Box-Toppers points, picking up 5.5 in the past week.
The Minnesota Twins had the biggest fall among all teams dropping two spots from 23rd to 25th with 72.9 Box-Toppers points, picking up 3.5 in the past week.
The Seattle Mariners had the biggest jump among top 10 teams, rising two spots from 10th to eight place with 109.9 Box-Toppers points, picking up 7.7 in the past week.
Last place: Rockies
The Colorado Rockies remain in 30th and last place for the 22nd straight week with 45.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 1.7 points in the past week.
