Also Tuesday, Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta rises to 10th place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day

Sale struck out nine over eight scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks, in the 5-0, 10-inning win over the Nationals. Sale did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the game was in a scoreless tie when he exited.

Sale earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 10.4 for the season, 34th among all players and 15th among National League pitchers.

Sale becomes the 38th player in 2025 to reach 10 Box-Toppers points. It is his 10th season with 10 or more points and his second in a row. He had 10 or more points for eight straight seasons from 2012 to 2019, including his best season in 2017 with the Red Sox, when his 25.1 Box-Toppers points led all players. American League Player of the Day is Dominic Canzone of the Mariners.

Dominic Canzone of the Mariners hit three home runs and went 5-for-5, scoring four times and driving in four runs, in the 12-5 win over the Royals.

Canzone earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 115th among AL batters.

National League Batter of the Day is Rafael Marchán of the Phillies.
