Player of the Day
Stowers hit three home runs and went 5-for-5, scoring four times and driving in six runs, in the 11-1 win over the Orioles.
Stowers earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.5 for the season, 67th among all players and 10th among National League batters.
Stowers recorded a +10.0 Box-Toppers game score Sunday, third-highest among all batters who have earned Player of the Game honors so far in 2025. The two higher game scores:
+11.0 by Brandon Nimmo of the Mets on April 28 in the 19-5 win over the Nationals (2HR 2B 4-6 4R 9BI).
+10.0 by Aaron Judge of the Yankees on March 29 in the 20-9 win over the Brewers (3HR 2B 4-6 4R 8BI).
Though Judge and Stowers both had +10.0 Box-Toppers game scores, Judge’s ranks higher because he had more at bats in his game—six vs. five.
While Stowers’ +10.0 game score is third-best among batters in 2025, it ranks 106th among all Player of the Game winners so far in the 1,445 games played so far this season. There are 103 pitchers who earned Player of the Game honors in 2025 with higher game scores.
Stowers becomes the eighth batter in 2025 to win overall Player of the Day honors. Other batters winning Player of the Day honors in 2025 are:
Jose Altuve of the Astros on July 4.
Kerry Carpenter of the Tigers on June 2.
Rhys Hoskins of the Brewers on May 14.
Gleyber Torres of the Yankees on May 12.
Jake Meyers of the Astros on May 3.
Brandon Nimmo of the Mets on April 28.
Aaron Judge of the Yankees on March 29.
In the 111 days of the season so far, pitchers have won Player of the Game honors in the other 103 days of the season. In the entire 2024 season, only five batters won overall Player of the Day honors.
American League Player of the Day
Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi struck out eight over 7 2/3 innings, allowing one run, five hits and one walk, in the 5-1 win over the Astros.
Eovaldi earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 9.4 for the season, 16th among all players and eighth among AL pitchers.
AL and NL Batters of the Day
There are no separate AL and NL Batters of the Day for Sunday.
There is no NL Batter of the Day because the overall Player of the Day is batter Kyle Stowers. There is no AL Batter of the Day because no AL Batter of the Day won Player of the Game honors in the 15 games completed.

About Box-Toppers
Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
