Player of the Day—Garcia struck out nine over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 8-1 win over the Blue Jays.

National League Player of the Day—Padres pitcher Nick Martinez struck out six over seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks, in the 1-0 win over the Braves.
