Also Wednesday, Red Sox pitcher Matt Barnes rises to second place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning his fourth Player of the Game honor of the 2021 season.

Player of the Day—Rodon pitched a complete-game no-hitter, striking out seven and allowing no walks, in the 8-0 win over the Indians. 

Rodon had a perfect game intact with one out in the ninth inning, but allowed his only baserunner when he hit Roberto Perez of the Indians with a pitch. Rodon retired the final two batters to secure the no-hitter.
