Meanwhile, Hader also rises to lead National League pitchers in Box-Toppers points and Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow is the new leader in points among American League pitchers.

Hader leads all players with 7.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 2.0 points in the past week. He is ahead of second-place overall player Glasnow (6.7 points). Hader passed Verlander (6.4), who led for the past two weeks, who now ranks fourth overall. Hader also passed last week’s NL pitching leader, Zack Greinke of the Diamondbacks (6.2 points), who falls to third among NL pitchers.

American League pitchers—Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow leads with 6.7 Box-Toppers points and ranks second overall. He passes last week’s AL pitching leader, Justin Verlander of the Astros (6.4), who falls to second among AL pitchers.

National League batters—Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers leads NL batters for the fifth straight week with 6.2 Box-Toppers points, falling from third to sixth place overall, picking up no points in the past week. He’s ahead of second-place NL batter Marcell Ozuna of the Cardinals, who with 5.5 points, ranks eighth overall.

American League batters—Joey Gallo of the Rangers leads AL batters for the third straight week with 4.0 Box-Toppers points, 29th place overall, picking up no points in the past week. He’s ahead of second-place AL batter Jose Abreu of the White Sox (4.0). (Though both Gallo and Abreu have 4.0 points on the season, Gallo ranks ahead because he has more 2017 Box-Toppers points—6.5 vs. 1.0.)

So far this season, 556 games have been played and 349 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 92 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points. There are 45 players who have made their Box-Toppers debut so far this season (11 in the past week), the first time in their career they earned Player of the Game honors.

Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
