The Los Angeles Dodgers remained the top National League team in Box-Toppers rankings, with 87.9 Box-Toppers points. The Dodgers also picked up 7.0 points during the previous week. The Dodgers were in third place overall, behind the second-place Los Angeles Angels (88.0 Box-Toppers points).
The Baltimore Orioles rose into the top 10 list this week, rising to ninth place from No. 12, with 71.3 Box-Toppers points. The Atlanta Braves fell from the top 10, falling from eighth place to 15th place with 68.9 Box-Toppers points—picking up 0.0 points over the previous week.
The Boston Red Sox, last year’s World Series champion, remained in 30th and last place among all teams for the second straight week. Red Sox players have accumulated 43.0 Box-Toppers points, behind the 29th-place Chicago Cubs, with 47.2.
Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
