Also Tuesday, Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski extends his lead in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors. In addition, Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom rises to eighth place in player rankings after earning top player honors Tuesday.
Other Player of the Game winners Tuesday include Rays pitcher Griffin Jax, Cole Carrigg of the Rockies, Yankees pitcher Max Fried and Spencer Torkelson of the Tigers.
Player of the Day: Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Dodgers
Yamamoto struck out seven over seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks, in the 4-0 win over the Reds.
After walking the first two batters he faced and giving up a third-inning double to Elly De La Cruz, Yamamoto retired 13 straight batters.
Yamamoto earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 17.4 for the season, seventh among all players and fourth among National League pitchers.
He also takes the lead among all Dodgers players, passing Shohei Ohtani (15.7). The Dodgers lead all teams with a combined 131.8 Box-Toppers points.
AL Player of the Day: Griffin Jax, Rays
Jax struck out seven over five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 2-1 win over the Athletics. Jax did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Athletics tied the game after he exited.
Jax earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as American League Player of the Day, giving him 6.7 for the season, 41st among AL pitchers.
NL Batter of the Day: Cole Carrigg, Rockies
Carrigg hit two home runs, including a three-run homer, in the 9-3 win over the Padres. Carrigg also doubled and went 4-for-5, scoring twice and driving in five runs.
This was Carrigg’s Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. The 2026 rookie made his Major League debut June 9 and was playing in his 82nd career game.
AL Batter of the Day: Spencer Torkelson, Tigers
Torkelson hit a three-run homer, doubled and went 2-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 10-1 win over the Blue Jays.
Leader: Jacob Misiorowski, Brewers
Misiorowski extends his lead in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Tuesday (5IP 5H 0R BB 7K W in the 5-1 win over the Pirates).
