Player of the Day: Dylan Cease, Blue Jays
Cease pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout, striking out 12 and walking three, in the 6-0 win over the Red Sox.
Cease gave up a double to Andruw Monasterio to open the sixth inning, the only hit he allowed. He threw 120 total pitches.
Cease earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 16.4 for the season, climbing from fourth to first place overall, passing previous leader, Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski (16.0 points), who had led since July 7. Cease also takes over first place among American League pitchers, passing Cam Schlittler of the Yankees (15.7 points).
NL Player of the Day: Andre Pallante, Cardinals
Pallante struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 7-0 win over the Reds.
Pallante earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as National League Player of the Day, giving him 7.7 for the season, 32nd among all players and 15th among NL pitchers.
NL Batter of the Day: Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cubs
Crow-Armstrong hit a home run, two doubles and went 4-for-5, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 11-0 win over the Pirates.
He earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points as NL Batter of the Day, giving him 5.5 for the season, 12th among NL batters.
AL Batter of the Day
There is no AL Batter of the Day for Saturday because no AL batter won Player of the Game honors in the 15 games completed.
Notable: Nathan Eovaldi, Rangers
Eovaldi now has 104.4 career Box-Toppers points—86th-most among all players since Box-Toppers tracking began in 1995—after earning Player of the Game honors Saturday (7IP 3H R BB 8K W in the 7-1 win over the Mariners).
With his 1.0 point Saturday, Eovaldi passes Jamie Moyer (104.0) on the “all-time” career points list. (Moyer would have an estimated 128 career points if his entire career from 1989 were tracked.) Eovaldi now trails 85th-ranked player Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers (104.9 points).

Devers (HR 2B 3-4 2R 4BI in the 9-2 win over the Angels) was also NL Batter of the Day Friday in the 7-6, 10-inning win over the Angels (HR 2-4 2R 3BI). He earns 1.0 point Saturday after earning 1.5 points Friday, giving him 5.0 for the season, 16th among NL batters.
Debuts
Two players made their Box-Toppers debut Saturday, each earning their first career Player of the Game honor:
Twins pitcher Kendry Rojas (4IP H 0R BB 5K ND in the 2-0 win over the Athletics) made his Major League debut April 22 and was playing in his 10th career game.
Luis Lara of the Brewers (2B SF 2-2 2R 3BI in the 8-5 win over the Rockies) made his Major League debut July 7 and was playing in his 12th career game.
