Notable: Sal Stewart, Reds

Stewart has the most 2026 Box-Toppers points among Saturday’s Player of the Game winners.

Stewart (2-2B SF 2-4 R 6BI in the 10-2 win over the Yankees) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 7.0 for the season, 20th among all players and second among NL batters, behind Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers (10.7).

Stewart has the most 2026 Box-Toppers points among full-time batters, ahead of Michael Harris II of the Braves (6.5 points). Ohtani has earned only 3.0 of his 10.7 points as a batter, with the other 7.7 coming as a pitcher. However, because at least 25% of his Player of the Game honors have come from each role (33.3% batting, 66.7% pitching), he qualifies to rank at both positions with his full 10.7-point total.

Debut

Marlins pitcher Tyler Zuber also made his Box-Toppers debut Saturday with his first career Player of the Game honor.

Zuber (1.1IP 0H 0R 0BB 2K ND in the 6-3 win over the Giants) made his Major League debut July 24, 2020, and was playing in his 73rd career game.

  • Kreidler earns 1.5 points as AL Batter of the Day.

  • All of Saturday’s other Player of the Game winners (listed in the chart) earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point.
