Player of the Day: José Soriano, Angels
Soriano struck out 10 over eight innings, allowing one run, three hits and no walks, in the 6-2 win over the Braves.
Soriano earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, rising from 10th to second place in season player rankings. He now trails only Yankees pitcher Max Fried for the season lead; while both have 4.0 points, Fried holds the tiebreaker based on higher 2025 totals (14.4 vs. 12.7).
Soriano is the first player this season to earn Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors three times. He did it twice previously, earning 1.0 point each time, on March 26 and March 31. (Fried earned his 4.0 points by twice winning overall Player of the Day honors, worth 2.0 points each.)
Soriano’s 12.7 points in 2025 were 11th among American League pitchers.
NL Player of the Day: Brandon Williamson, Reds
Williamson struck out four over 6 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 2-0 win over the Marlins.
Williamson earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 30th in season player rankings.
NL Batter of the Day: Dalton Rushing, Dodgers
Rushing hit two home runs and went 4-for-4, scoring three times and driving in two runs, in the 14-2 win over the Blue Jays.
This was Rushing’s Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. Rushing made his Major League debut May 15, 2025, and was playing in his 56th career game.
AL Batter of the Day: Jonathan India, Royals
India homered and went 2-for-4, scoring once and driving in three runs, in the 4-2 win over the Guardians.

deGrom (5IP H R BB 6K ND in the 2-1 win over the Mariners) earned his first points in 2014 with the Mets and now has 152.2 career Box-Toppers points, 27th among all players since 1995, when Box-Toppers tracking began. With his 1.0 point Monday, he passes Barry Bonds (152.2) on the “all-time” career points list. Though they both have 152.2 career points, deGrom ranks ahead of Bonds because he’s earned points more recently. deGrom now trails 26th-ranked player Greg Maddux (152.7). (It should be noted that Maddux would have an estimated 250 career Box-Toppers points if his entire career from 1986 were tracked.)
deGrom ranks fifth among active players in career points and fourth among AL pitchers.
deGrom’s best season was 2015 with the Mets, when he earned 22.4 Box-Toppers points, third overall and third among National League pitchers. deGrom extended his streak in 2024, earning just 1.0 Box-Toppers point on Sept. 27, coming back after more than a year away recovering from elbow surgery. He earned his previous Box-Toppers point April 28, 2023.

Streak: Bryce Harper, Phillies
Harper has now earned Box-Toppers points in 12 straight seasons with his first Player of the Game honor of 2026 Monday.
Harper (2-2B 3-4 R 3BI in the 6-4 win over the Giants) earned his first Box-Toppers points in 2012 with the Nationals, but his streak began in 2015 with the Nationals, as he earned no points in 2014.
His 77.6 career Box-Toppers points are fourth among active NL batters. His best season was 2013 with the Nationals when he earned 9.4 points, fifth among NL batters. He earned 2.0 points in 2025, playing in 132 games.

Twins closing pitcher Cody Laweryson also made his Box-Toppers debut Monday with his first career Player of the Game honor.
