Also Tuesday, Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler rises to third place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning American League Player of the Day honors.

Luzardo struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 7-0 win over the Giants.
Luzardo earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points as Player of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, 12th overall and sixth among National League pitchers.

Schlitter earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as AL Player of the Day, giving him 5.7 for the season, rising to third in season player rankings and third among AL pitchers, behind Max Fried of the Yankees and José Soriano of the Angels, both with 7.0 points.
NL Batter of the Day: Elly De La Cruz, Reds
De La Cruz homered and went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 7-2 win over the Rockies.
He earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points as NL Batter of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, seventh among NL batters.
AL Batter of the Day: Drew Romo, White Sox
Romo hit two home runs and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 5-2 win over the Angels.
This was his Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. Romo made his Major League debut Aug. 17, 2024, and was playing in his 22nd career game.

Royals relief pitcher Nick Mears also made his Box-Toppers debut Tuesday with his first career Player of the Game honor.
