Guardians pitcher Tanner Bibee is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Saturday, Orioles closing pitcher Felix Bautista rises to seventh in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day

Bibee struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 1-0 win over the Phillies.

Bibee earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 6.7 for the season, 52nd among all players and 26th among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day

Luis Campusano of the Padres hit a three-run home run and went 4-for-5, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 14-3 win over the Tigers.

Campusano earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 52nd among NL batters.

National League Player of the Day is Luis Campusano of the Padres.

American League Batter of the Day

Triston Casas of the Red Sox hit two home runs and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 8-6 win over the Mets.

Orioles closing pitcher Felix Bautista rises to seventh place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Saturday.

Bautista (1IP 0H 0R 0BB 2K Sv in the 6-5 win over the Rays) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 11.0 for the season. He ranks fourth among AL pitchers and increases his lead among AL closing pitchers, ahead of second-place Michael King of the Yankees (5.0 points).

This is Bautista’s second Player of the Game honor in three days. He was also Player of the Game Thursday.

Notable

Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole now has 146.3 career Box-Toppers points—30th-most since 1995—after earning Player of the Game honors Saturday.

Cole (6.1IP 5H 2R BB 10K ND in the 5-2 win over the Royals) earns 1.0 point, passing David Ortiz (145.9) on Box-Toppers’ “all-time” career points list. He now trails 29th-ranked player Jim Thome (146.7). Freeman (2HR 4-5 3R 3BI in the 16-3 win over the Rangers) was also Player of the Game Friday in the 11-5 win over the Rangers (HR 2B 2-4 2R 3BI). He earned 1.0 Box-Toppers point each time, giving him 4.5 for the season, 14th among NL batters.
