The Tampa Bay Rays lead Box-Toppers first weekly team rankings report of the 2023 season.

Here are Box-Toppers final 2023 team rankings through games of Thursday, April 13. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team accumulated this season. The column BTP/wk shows have many points teams accumulated from April 7 to April 13 . The column Wk ago shows the team's rank on April 6.

Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Brewers lead National League teams.

Rays players have accumulated 18.7 Box-Toppers points in the first two weeks of the season, winning each of their first 13 games through Thursday, April 13. They picked up 9.7 points in the past week since April 6, most of any team. The Rays also led teams at the end of the first week of the season.

The Rays lead over the second-place Minnesota Twins with 12.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 7.5 points in the past week.

The Rays have baseball’s best winning percentage (1.000) and are led by pitcher Drew Rasmussen (4.0 Box-Toppers points, second among all players). Top batter is Wander Franco (3.0 points, 10th overall and first among American League batters). Eight different Rays players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2023.

Brewers players have accumulated 11.7 Box-Toppers points, picking up 5.0 points in the past week. The Brewers are tied for best winning percentage among NL teams (.692) with the Atlanta Braves, who rank sixth overall in Box-Toppers rankings with 9.5 points.

The Brewers are led by designated hitter Jesse Winker (2.5 Box-Toppers points, fourth among NL batters). Brewers top pitcher is Brandon Woodruff (2.0 points, sixth among NL pitchers).

Two teams are tied at the bottom of Box-Toppers team rankings—both the Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics are tied in 29th place with 3.0 Box-Toppers points. Both earned 1.0 point in the past week.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
