The Los Angeles Dodgers lead Box-Toppers weekly team rankings report for the third week in a row.

Here are Box-Toppers 2021 team rankings, through the games of Thursday, April 29. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team accumulated this season. The column BTP/wk shows have many points teams accumulated from April 23 to 29. The column Wk ago shows the team's rank as of April 22.

Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox, the week’s hottest team, rise to lead American League teams.

Dodgers players have accumulated 20.5 Box-Toppers points through the games of April 29, picking up 2.7 points in the past week, since April 22, maintaining their first place spot in team rankings. The Dodgers are tied for the third-best winning percentage (.615). The Kansas City Royals have the best winning percentage (.652) and rank seventh in Box-Toppers team rankings with 16.5 Box-Toppers points. The San Francisco Giants have the second-best winning percentage (.640) and rank 11th with 16.0 Box-Toppers points. Two other teams with .615 winning percentages, the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics, both are also tied for fourth in Box-Toppers rankings with 18.2 points.

The Dodgers are led by pitcher Clayton Kershaw, whose 5.4 Box-Toppers points is second overall and first among National League pitchers. Dodgers’ top batter is Justin Turner (1.7 points, sixth among NL batters). Nine different Dodgers have earned Box-Toppers points so far this season.

The White Sox rise to lead AL teams with 20.2 Box-Toppers points, passing last week’s leader, the Oakland Athletics. The White Sox rise from eighth place overall to second place this week, picking up 7.2 points in the past week, most of any team. The Athletics fall into a tie for fourth place overall with 18.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up 4.0 points in the past week.

The White Sox have a winning percentage of .583, third among AL teams behind the Royals (.652), the Athletics (.615) and the Red Sox (.615).

The White Sox are led by pitcher Carlos Rodon, whose 4.0 Box-Toppers points ranks 11th among all players and sixth among AL pitchers. White Sox top batter is Yermin Mercedes with 3.0 Box-Toppers points, second among AL batters. Ten different White Sox players have earned Box-Toppers points so far this season.

The New York Yankees had the biggest rise in team rankings this week, climbing 13 spots from 28th overall to 15th with 15.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 7.0 in the past week.

The Texas Rangers had the biggest decline in the past week, falling nine spots from 12th to 21st place with 13.2 points, picking up 2.0 points in the past week.

The Detroit Tigers fall to 30th and last place with 8.7 Box-Toppers points, picking up 1.0 point in the past week, falling from 29th place last week. Last week’s lowest ranked team, the Colorado Rockies, rise to 28th place with 10.2 points, picking up 3.5 in the past week.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
