The New York Yankees lead Box-Toppers weekly team rankings report for the second straight week.

Here are Box-Toppers 2018 season team rankings, through the games of Thursday, May 10. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team accumulated this season. The column BTP/wk shows have many points teams accumulated from May 4 to May 10. The column Wk ago shows the team's rank as of May 3.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks maintain their top spot among National League teams for the fourth straight week. And the Minnesota Twins were the hottest team of the past week.

Yankees players have accumulated 33.9 Box-Toppers points through the games of May 10, most of any team for the second week in a row. They picked up 6.5 points in the past week. They are tied for baseball’s best winning percentage (.703) with the Boston Red Sox, who rank third in Box-Toppers team rankings with 30.4 points.

The Yankees are led by pitcher Luis Severino with 10.7 Box-Toppers points, most of any player. Top batter is shortstop Didi Gregorius with 3.0 Box-Toppers points, ninth among American League batters. Thirteen different Yankees players have earned Player of the Game honors so far this season.

The Diamondbacks continue to lead NL teams with 29.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 3.5 points in the past week, but fall from third to fourth place among all teams. Top player is pitcher Patrick Corbin with 7.0 Box-Toppers points, fourth in season player rankings. Outfielder A.J. Pollock leads Diamondbacks batters with 3.0 points, sixth among NL batters. Fourteen different Diamondbacks players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2018.

The Minnesota Twins are the past week’s hottest team, picking up 7.0 Box-Toppers points in the past week, rising from 22nd to 18th place with 21.7 points.

The New York Mets fell further than any team in the past week, dropping from 14th to 21st place with 19.5 Box-Toppers points, earning no points in the past week. 

The Philadelphia Phillies made the biggest jump of any team in the past week, rising from 17th to ninth place with 24.9 Box-Toppers points, picking up 4.0 points in the past week.

The Chicago White Sox fall from 27th to 30th and last place among all teams with 11.7 Box-Toppers points, picking up no points in the past week. Last week’s lowest-ranked team, the Cincinnati Reds, rise to 27th place with 14.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 6.0 points in the past week.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
