Notable: Dansby Swanson, Cubs

Swanson maintains third place among NL batters in 2026 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors Tuesday (HR 2B 3-4 2R BI in the 5-1 win over the Dodgers).

Swanson earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 9.2 for the season, 26th among all players. He is third among NL batters, behind Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers (13.7) and Sal Stewart of the Reds (9.5). It should be noted that Ohtani has earned only 5.0 of his 13.7 points as a batter; the rest have come as a pitcher. So Swanson now has the second-most points earned purely as a batter in the Major Leagues, behind only Stewart.

Debut

Reds relief pitcher Julian Garcia made his Box-Toppers debut Tuesday with his first career Player of the Game honor (1IP 0H 0R 0BB 2K W in the 5-4 win over the Athletics).

Andrew McCutchen, 39, released by #Braves, a month after signing minor league deal. His 82.9 career Box-Toppers points were 6th among active batters. He’s earned B-T points in 17 straight seasons (2009-25)—tied for 2nd-longest active streak—but has 0 points in 2026 with TEX, ATL.
