Astros pitcher Tatsuya Imai is Thursday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Imai struck out 10 over six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 2-1 win over the Tigers.

Imai earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.7 for the season, 47th among all players and 20th among American League pitchers.

Imai recorded a +13.0 Box-Toppers game score Thursday, just beating the +12.2 game score by Rays pitcher Ian Seymour for overall Player of the Day honors. Seymour pitched 6 2/3 innings without allowing a hit (6.2IP 0H BB 7K W in the 13-2 win over the Royals) and Rays pitchers were en route to a combined no-hitter until closer Craig Kimbrel gave up a ninth-inning, two-run home run to Carter Jensen, the Royals’ only hit.
