Rangers pitcher Jack Leiter is Box-Toppers Player of the Day on Tuesday, the final day of spring training games.

Other top players Tuesday include James Outman of the Twins and Brewers pitcher Brandon Sproat.

Player of the Day: Jack Leiter, Rangers

Leiter struck out six over four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 4-1 win over the Royals.

Leiter earned 6.7 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 49th among American League pitchers and sixth among AL rookie pitchers.

NL Player of the Day: Brandon Sproat, Brewers

Sproat struck out five over four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks, in the 4-1 win over the Reds.

Sproat appeared in four games in 2025 with the Brewers but has yet to earn his first Player of the Game honor. Sproat joined the Brewers in January via the trade that sent Freddy Peralta (14.7 Box-Toppers points in 2025, eighth among NL pitchers) to the Mets.

James Outman of the Twins is AL Batter of the Day in Tuesday’s spring training games.

AL Batter of the Day: James Outman, Twins

Outman hit a pair of two-run home runs and went 2-for-2, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 15-6 win over the Red Sox.

Outman was Box-Toppers’ choice for 2023 NL Rookie of the Year when he was with the Dodgers (he finished third in official voting). Outman earned 8.7 Box-Toppers points that season, seventh among NL batters. But he’s earned just 1.0 Box-Toppers point since then in 2024 with the Dodgers and has shuttled between the minors and majors the past two seasons, limited by injuries and inconsistencies at the plate. He was traded to the Twins at midseason in 2025.

NL Batter of the Day

There is no separate NL Batter of the Day for Tuesday because no NL batter won Player of the Game honors in the eight games completed.

Tuesday’s games

In eight spring training games between two Major League teams:

  • Six games featured Player of the Game winners with previous career Box-Toppers points; five of whom earned points in 2025 (see table).

  • Two games featured Player of the Game winners with 0.0 career regular-season Box-Toppers points.

Tuesday’s Scoring Summary

  • Jack Leiter, Rangers: 2.0 points (Player of the Day)

  • Brandon Sproat, Brewers: 1.7 points (NL Player of the Day)

  • James Outman, Twins: 1.5 points (AL Batter of the Day)
