Gordon earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 3.7 for the season, 79th among NL pitchers.

American League Batter of the Day

Kody Clemens of the Twins hit three home runs, doubled and went 4-for-4, scoring three times and driving in five runs, in the 9-8 win over the Diamondbacks.

Clemens earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 3.5 for the season, 56th among AL batters.

American League Batter of the Day is Kody Clemens of the Twins.

National League Batter of the Day

Ian Happ of the Cubs homered, doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in two runs, in the 6-4 win over the Rays.

Castillo (6IP 3H R 2BB 5K ND in the 2-1 win over the Angels) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point and his 13.1 points ranks 16th among all players and seventh among AL pitchers.

Also notable

Yankees pitcher Luis Gil earned his first Box-Toppers Player of the Game honor of 2025 after his 17.4 Box-Toppers points in 2024 ranked sixth overall and led all AL rookies. Gil was also voted AL Rookie of the Year in 2024.

Gil (6IP 0H 0R 4BB 4K W in the 4-1 win over the Red Sox) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point. Gil was pitching a no-hitter but was pulled after 93 pitches. Yankees relievers subsequently gave up two hits.

Gil was out until Aug. 3 with a high-grade right lat strain. This was his eighth start of the season. It is also his first Box-Toppers Player of the Game honor in more than a calendar year—he last did it Sept. 6, 2024.

While Gil was among 2024’s Box-Toppers leaders, he earned 14.4 of his 17.4 points on July 13 and before, slumping in the second half of the season.
