Meanwhile, Tarik Skubal of the Tigers rises to lead American League pitchers, passing previous leader Hunter Brown of the Astros. Also, Seiya Suzuki of the Cubs rises to lead National League batters and Riley Greene of the Tigers maintains his lead among AL batters.
Wheeler leads
Wheeler has 16.1 Box-Toppers points in 2025, picking up 2.0 points in the past week, leading second-place player, Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal (12.7 points). He leads NL pitchers ahead of second-place Nick Pivetta of the Padres (12.0 points).
Wheeler led all players in Box-Toppers points in 2024 with 21.4.
American League pitchers
Tarik Skubal of the Tigers rises from fourth place last week to first place this week with 12.7 Box-Toppers points, picking up 2.0 points in the past week. He passes previous AL pitching leader Hunter Brown of the Astros, who falls to second place with 12.4 points.

American League batters
Riley Greene of the Tigers leads AL batters for the seventh week with 9.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 1.5 points in the past week. He leads ahead of second-place AL batter George Springer of the Blue Jays (8.7 points).
Greene ranks 12th among all players.
Box-Toppers almanac
Batters won Player of the Game honors in 36 of the 93 games played this week (38.7 percent) with pitchers winning the other 57 (61.3 percent).
Batters’ share of Player of the Game honors for the season held steady from last week at 38.7 percent (505 times in 1,305 total games). Pitchers have won Player of the Game honors in the other 800 games (61.3 percent).
Batters also had a slight decrease in their share of Box-Toppers points earned this season from 38.81 percent last week to 38.78 percent this week (603.6 points out of 1,556.3 total awarded). Pitchers have won 61.22 percent of all points.
Last year, batters had the lowest share of points compared to pitchers (37.2 percent) in any season since Box-Toppers tracking began in 1995.
While batters have struggled to reach parity with pitchers in recent seasons, it wasn’t always this way: From 1995 to 2009, batters generally won half or more of all Box-Toppers points each season. But their share of points dropped precipitously after 2009.
