Giants pitcher Alex Cobb is Tuesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Cobb struck out nine over six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 2-1 win over the Athletics. Cobb did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Athletics tied the game after he exited.

Cobb earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 8.0 for the season, 27th among all players and 15th among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day

Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow struck out eight over seven innings, allowing one run, two hits and two walks, in the 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Glasnow earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 5.4 for the season, 37th among AL pitchers.

American League Player of the Day is Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow.

National League Batter of the Day

Pete Alonso of the Mets hit two home runs, including a three-run shot, in the 9-3 win over the Yankees. Alonso went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in five runs.

Alonso earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 6.0 for the season, fourth among NL batters.

National League Batter of the Day is Pete Alonso of the Mets.

American League Batter of the Day

Bo Naylor of the Guardians hit two home runs and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 5-1 win over the Royals.

This was Naylor’s Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. Naylor made his Major League debut Oct. 1, 2022, and was playing in his 27th career game.

American League Batter of the Day is Bo Naylor of the Guardians.

Reds pitcher Andrew Abbott has the most 2023 Box-Toppers points among the 15 who earned Player of the Game honors Tuesday.

Abbott (6IP 7H 0R BB 9K W in the 4-3 win over the Brewers) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 9.0 for the season, 15th among all players and eighth among NL pitchers.
