Mariners pitcher George Kirby is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Kirby struck out eight over six innings, allowing one run (none earned), three hits and no walks, in the 3-1 win over the Braves.
Kirby earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 10.4 for the season, 39th among all players and 20th among American League pitchers.
Kirby becomes the 42nd player this season to reach 10.0 Box-Toppers points. It is his first season to reach 10.0 points and also his first season earning points.
National League Player of the Day—Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco struck out six over six innings, allowing one run, four hits and no walks, in the 11-3 win over the Marlins.
Carrasco earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 8.7 for the season, 24th among NL pitchers.
Carrasco also now has 108.8 career Box-Toppers points, 67th among all players since player tracking began in 1995. American League Batter of the Day—Rafael Devers of the Red Sox hit a grand slam and went 3-for-5, scoring once and driving in five runs, in the 17-4 win over the Orioles.
Notable—Guardians pitcher Triston McKenzie has the most 2022 Box-Toppers points among Saturday’s 15 Player of the Game winners.
McKenzie (7IP 6H 0R 2BB 5K W in the 6-4 win over the Twins) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 13.0 for the season, 17th among all players and seventh among AL pitchers.

Albert Pujols of the Cardinals (HR 2B 3-4 R 3BI in the 7-5 win over the Pirates) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 207.8 career points, seventh among all players since player tracking began in 1995. He trails sixth-ranked player, Royals pitcher Zack Greinke (222.5). Pujols is also first among all batters since 1995, ahead of second-place Alex Rodriguez (187.0). (Pujols tied Rodriguez Saturday in career home runs, hitting his 696th.) Pujols leads active batters in career points, ahead of second-place Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers (159.4). White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn (6IP 3H 2R 0ER BB 5K W in the 10-2 win over the Athletics) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 112.8 career points, 63rd among all players since tracking began in 1995. With his 1.0 point Saturday, he passes Kevin Brown (112.8) on the “all-time” list and now trails 62nd-ranked Sammy Sosa (113.2). Lynn has 8.7 Box-Toppers points in 2022, 26th among AL pitchers.
