Dodgers pitcher Dustin May is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Saturday, Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove rises to sixth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day—May struck out nine over five scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks, in the 7-0 win over the Marlins.

May earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks  353rd among all players, 92nd among National League pitchers.

This was May’s first start since May 2021 after which he underwent Tommy John surgery.

American League Player of the Day—Rays pitcher Drew Rasmussen struck out eight over 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs, two hits and one walk, in the 5-2 win over the Royals.

Rasmussen earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 6.7 for the season, 30th among AL pitchers.
