Giants pitcher Carlos Rodon is Sunday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to seventh in season player rankings.

Also Sunday, White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease maintains his third place spot in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors. Plus, Braves pitcher Max Fried rises to sixth place.

Player of the Day—Rodon struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 4-0 win over the Cubs.

Rodon earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 12.7 for the season, seventh among all players and third among National League pitchers, behind Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins (14.4) and Max Fried of the Braves (13.0). (Fried also earned Player of the Game honors Sunday).

Astros pitcher Jake Odorizzi is Sunday’s Box-Toppers AL Player of the Day.

American League Player of the Day—Astros pitcher Jake Odorizzi struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks, in the 3-2, 10-inning win over the Mariners. Odorizzi did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Mariners tied the game after he exited.

Odorizzi earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 6.4 for the season, 58th among all players and 25th among American League pitchers.

James Outman of the Dodgers is Sunday’s Box-Toppers NL Batter of the Day.

National League Batter of the Day—James Outman of the Dodgers homered, doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 7-3 win over the Rockies.

This was Outman’s Box-Toppers debut, the first time in his career he earned Player of the Game honors. It was also his Major League debut.

Austin Hedges of the Guardians is Sunday’s Box-Toppers AL Batter of the Day.

American League Batter of the Day—Austin Hedges of the Guardians went 1-for-2, scoring once and driving in two runs, in the 5-3 win over the Rays.

White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease is Box-Toppers Player of the Game in Sunday’s win over the Athletics.

Cease—White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease maintains his third place spot in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Sunday.

Cease (6IP 4H R BB 7K W in the 4-1 win over the Athletics) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 15.7 for the season. He also ranks third among AL pitchers behind Shohei Ohtani of the Angels (17.0) and Justin Verlander of the Astros (17.0).
