Cubs pitcher Kevin Gausman is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Gausman struck out six over seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Gausman earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 6.0 for the season, 92nd among all players and 34th among National League pitchers.

It is the first points he has earned since being traded from the Blue Jays before the Aug. 3 trade deadline and his first points in more than three months (the last was May 22).

Gausman also has 118.2 career Box-Toppers points, rising to 56th among all players since Box-Toppers tracking began in 1995. With his 2.0 points Monday, he passes five players on the “all-time” career points list—Todd Helton (116.4), Mark Buehrle (116.7), Adrian Beltre (116.8), Barry Zito (117.4) and Johnny Cueto (118.2). (Though he has the same point total as Cueto, Gausman ranks ahead on a tiebreaker, having earned points more recently.) Gausman now trails 56th-ranked player Carlos Delgado (118.7).

Gausman ranks 10th among active, signed players in career points, fifth among active NL pitchers.

AL Player of the Day: Cal Raleigh, Mariners

Raleigh hit three home runs and went 3-for-3, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 9-2 win over the Phillies.

Raleigh earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as American League Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 60th among AL batters.

AL Player of the Day: Cal Raleigh, Mariners.

NL Batter of the Day: Daylen Lile, Nationals

Lile hit a three-run homer, doubled and went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in five runs, in the 13-3 win over the Rockies.

Lile earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points as NL Batter of the Day, giving him 5.7 for the season, 21st among NL batters.

AL Batter of the Day

There is no separate AL Batter of the Day for Monday because the overall AL Player of the Day is batter Cal Raleigh.

Seager (2-2B 3-4 R 3BI in the 11-2 win over the White Sox) earned his first Box-Toppers points in 2015 with the Dodgers and now has 34.2 career points, 20th among active AL batters and fourth among active AL shortstops.

Seager’s best season was 2017 with the Dodgers, when he had 7.0 points, first among NL shortstops. In 2025, he had 1.0 point with the Rangers, one of three previous seasons when he extended his consecutive-season streak with just 1.0 point (he also did it in 2018 and 2019).
