Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Other Player of the Game winners Monday include Dillon Dingler of the Tigers and Christian Yelich of the Brewers.

Player of the Day: Jacob deGrom, Rangers

deGrom struck out eight over five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk, in the 2-1 win over the Cardinals.

deGrom earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 7.7 for the season, 11th among all players and sixth among American League pitchers.

deGrom also now has 158.9 career Box-Toppers points, rising to 22nd place among all players since tracking began in 1995. With his 2.0 points Monday, he passes Tim Hudson (157.0) on the “all-time” career points list and now trails 21st-ranked Miguel Cabrera (159.4).

deGrom ranks fifth among active, signed players in career points, fourth among active AL pitchers.

Yelich went 3-for-5, scoring three times and driving in two runs, in the 16-2 win over the Giants.

Yelich earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as National League Player of the Day, giving him 3.7 for the season, 67th among all players and 11th among NL batters.

His 81.8 career points is third among active NL batters, behind Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers (99.9) and Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers (96.9). (Ohtani earned 45.7 of his career points as a batter, with the remaining 54.2 earned as a pitcher.)
