Ryan struck out nine over 7 2/3 innings, allowing two runs, five hits and no walks, in the 5-3, 11-inning win over the White Sox. Ryan did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the game was tied when he exited.
Ryan earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, 29th among all players and 14th among American League pitchers.
NL Player of the Day: Andy Pages, Dodgers
Pages homered, hit two doubles and went 4-for-5, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 15-6 win over the Rockies.
Pages earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as National League Player of the Day, giving him 4.7 for the season, sixth among NL batters.
Pages recorded a +5.0 Box-Toppers game score, the same as another NL player who won Player of the Game honors Tuesday, Michael Harris II of the Braves (HR 2B 4-5 3R 3BI in the 7-6 win over the Red Sox). But Pages beat Harris for NL Player of the Day on a tiebreaker with more at bats (five vs. four).
AL Batter of the Day: Vaughn Grissom, Angels
Grissom hit a grand slam and went 3-for-5, scoring once and driving in six runs, in the 10-6 win over the Tigers.
