Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to sixth place in season player rankings.
Also Monday:
Phillies pitcher Jesús Luzardo rises to ninth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings.
Ketel Marte of the Diamondbacks earns Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors for the third straight day and fourth time in the past six days.
Three Astros, led by Tatsuya Imai, combine to pitch the first no-hitter of 2026.
Other Player of the Game winners Monday include Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo and Blaze Alexander of the Orioles.
Player of the Day: Jacob Misiorowski
Misiorowski struck out 12 over seven innings, allowing one run, two hits and one walk, in the 5-1 win over the Cardinals.
Misiorowski earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 8.0 for the season, rising to sixth among all players and fourth among National League pitchers.
AL Player of the Day: Luis Castillo, Mariners
Castillo struck out six over four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks, in the 9-2 win over the Athletics. Castillo picked up a no-decision, because he did not pitch the required five innings to earn the win.
Castillo earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points as American League Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 38th among AL pitchers.
He now has 100.4 career Box-Toppers points, becoming the 97th player to reach 100 career points since tracking began in 1995. With his 1.7 points Monday, he rises to 95th place overall, passing four players on the “all-time” career points list—Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers (98.9), Jim Edmonds (99.8), Larry Walker (100.1) and Jeff Bagwell (100.4). He now trails 94th-ranked player Paul Konerko (100.7).
Castillo ranks 15th among active, signed players in career points, eighth among active AL pitchers.
NL Batter of the Day: Ketel Marte, Diamondbacks
Marte doubled and went 4-for-5, scoring once and driving in three runs, in the 6-2 win over the Giants.
Marte earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points as NL Batter of the Day, giving him 5.5 for the season, 24th among all players and second among NL batters, behind Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers (7.7). However, because Ohtani earned 5.7 of his points as a pitcher, Marte has the most Box-Toppers points earned solely as an NL batter, just ahead of the Reds' Sal Stewart (5.0).
Marte has now earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors for three straight days and earned his entire season total in the past six days, equivalent to his entire 2025 season total of 5.5 points (which was 28th among NL batters). He’s earned all four his Player of the Game honors in the last five Diamondbacks wins. Here are his previous three Player of the Game wins from this season:
May 20—He earned 1.5 points as NL Batter of the Day in the 6-3 win over the Giants (HR 2B 3-3 3R 2BI).
May 23—He earned 1.0 point as Player of the Game in the 5-4 win over the Rockies (HR 2-2B 3-4 2R 2BI).
May 24—He earned 1.5 points as NL Batter of the Day in the 9-1 win over the Rockies (2-2B 3-4 3R 3BI).
AL Batter of the Day: Blaze Alexander, Orioles
Alexander went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in one run, in the 9-7, 13-inning win over the Rays.
Rankings: Jesús Luzardo, Phillies
Luzardo rises to ninth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Monday.
Luzardo (6IP 4H 0R 2BB 6K W in the 3-0 win over the Padres) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 7.0 for the season. He ranks sixth among NL pitchers.
Notable: Tatsuya Imai, Astros
Three Astros pitched the first no-hitter of 2026 and the first in the Major Leagues since Sept. 4, 2024.
Starter Tatsuya Imai won Player of the Game with a Box-Toppers game score of +4.0 (6IP 0H 0R 4BB 2K W), the seventh-best among Monday’s Player of the Game winners.
Imai, who threw 97 pitches, earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point as Player of the Game, giving him 2.7 for the season, 42nd among AL pitchers.
Relievers Steven Okert (1IP 0H 0R BB K ND) and Alimber Santa (2IP 0H 0R 0BB K ND) completed the combined no-hitter.
Debut
Pirates relief pitcher Wilber Dotel made his Box-Toppers debut Monday with his first career Player of the Game honor.
Dotel (3IP H 0R 0BB 4K W in the 2-1 win over the Cubs) made his Major League debut April 19 and was playing in his fifth career game.
