Nationals pitcher Andrew Alvarez is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Sunday’s spring training games.

Alvarez struck out five over four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks, in the 3-1 win over the Astros. Alvarez did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the game was in a scoreless tie when he exited.

Alvarez earned 2.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025, earning Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors in his Major League debut Sept. 1. He started five games to close the season.
